Restaurant Waiter / Waitress
Join our team and help bring the story of a great English manor to life, one table at a time
Who We Are
At Dumbleton Hall, we do not simply run a hotel — we steward a great English manor, where every guest is received as the honoured guest of the family. Fires are lit, dinner is served, and life unfolds as it once did in the Golden Age of English country houses.
Set in the richest pocket of the Cotswolds, our story reaches back to the Holland family, the literary circles of Gaskell, Dickens and Darwin, the Mitford sisters, and poet laureate John Betjeman. Today, we continue that tradition, offering guests a living narrative of culture and hospitality drawn from the Belle Époque, the 1920s, and artistic touchstones such as William Morris and Frederic Leighton.
The Role
As a Waiter or Waitress at Dumbleton Hall, you are at the very heart of our guests' experience. Whether serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, or an evening in our restaurant, you bring warmth, polish and genuine hospitality to every table — welcoming guests by name, anticipating their needs, and helping create moments that feel grand yet warmly human.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
