About School Of Coding & AI
School of Coding & AI is a growing education provider delivering career-focused programmes across Business, Computing, AI, STEM, Health and Social Care.
We work with universities, employers and industry partners to provide education that develops practical knowledge, professional confidence and strong employment outcomes.
Our focus is simple: student first, always.
About The Role
We are looking for a Lecturer in Food Business Management to deliver engaging, industry relevant teaching across our Telford campus.
The role will focus on helping students understand how food businesses operate, compete, grow and respond to changing commercial, consumer and sustainability pressures. Teaching will combine business theory with practical application across areas such as economics, marketing, operations, entrepreneurship, ethical business and strategic management.
You will use case studies, live business challenges, commercial projects and collaborative activities to help students apply their learning to food producers, retailers, suppliers, hospitality organisations and specialist food enterprises.
The role would suit either an experienced lecturer or a food-sector professional with strong commercial knowledge who is looking to develop a career in higher education. Applicants without extensive teaching experience will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate complex information clearly, support learners effectively and develop engaging learning activities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver lectures, seminars, workshops and applied learning activities across Food Business Management modules
- Teach relevant subjects including business economics, consumer behaviour, marketing, operations, entrepreneurship, sustainability, business ethics and strategic management
- Use food-sector examples, case studies and commercial data to connect academic theory with real business practice
- Support students to undertake market research, analyse consumer behaviour and develop customer-focused business and marketing proposals
- Develop students' commercial skills through activities involving pitching, negotiation, teamwork, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving
- Help students understand the economic, environmental and social pressures affecting modern food businesses
- Design and assess a range of applied assessments, including business reports, presentations, portfolios, research projects and team challenges
- Provide clear, constructive and timely feedback that helps students improve their academic and professional performance
- Offer academic guidance and appropriate pastoral support, referring students to specialist services where required
- Contribute to module development, programme review, assessment design and continuous improvement activity
- Work with employers, guest speakers and industry partners to create relevant projects and learning opportunities
- Maintain accurate academic records and meet internal quality assurance, moderation and compliance requirements
- Participate in staff development, scholarly activity and relevant engagement with the food and higher education sectors

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
