Food Production Operative

Key Duties

  • Working on the production line, preparing raw meat products.
  • Adding ingredients, packing, and labeling products.
  • De-boxing various meat primals onto tables.
  • De-bagging primals and placing them into trays.
  • Lifting boxes from pallets to the de-boxing area (up to 20kg).
  • Disposing of empty boxes and bags into rubbish skips.
  • Collecting clean trays from the tray wash area.
  • Handling heavy lifting tasks as required.
  • Rotating tasks with the team to ensure efficient operation.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Collaborating effectively in a team environment.

Pay rate

£12.91 per hour

Any lawful deductions will be explained clearly before engagement. Statutory deductions such as Tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions (where applicable) will apply.

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday
  • 07:00 to 17:00
  • OR
  • 16:00 to 01:00

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in the food industry, especially with raw meat (pork, beef, poultry), is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in cold conditions for approximately 9 hours daily.
  • Physically fit to handle lifting up to 20kg.
  • Flexible with working hours, as shifts may vary depending on the department.
  • Teamwork-oriented with a strong work ethic.
