Job Title: Food Production Operative

Location: Knaresborough, North Yorkshire

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, permanent (panama rota)

Are you an experienced Food Production Operative looking for a secure, long term opportunity within a successful and growing food manufacturing business?

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join a busy production team, supporting the efficient manufacture and packaging of food products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene and safety.

Your Duties As Food Production Operative

  • Operate food production machinery to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Carry out routine equipment checks and assist with basic machine maintenance where required.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Complete machine changeovers safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately complete production paperwork and records.
  • Help achieve daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and compliant with food hygiene regulations.
  • Report equipment faults or production concerns to the relevant team members.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure production deadlines are met.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience operating production machinery is advantageous.
  • A Forklift Truck (FLT) licence would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be provided.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality products.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team focused attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast moving environment.
