As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you'll help drive a quality culture across our UK/EU supply base. You'll work in a hybrid capacity, supporting quality assurance, supplier due diligence, and resolution of product quality issues helping ensure Aldi products meet our high specifications.

Aldi is looking for an experienced Quality/Technical professional with strong knowledge of UK and EU food legislation, plus experience from Retail Technical, Food Service or Food Manufacturing. You'll be confident communicating quality and compliance matters with suppliers and internal stakeholders, using data to make commercially sound decisions.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to deliver safe, legal and quality products, and to maintain and improve quality management processes and standards across the business.

Your New Role

  • Support Buying teams to ensure we receive the products and specifications we pay for
  • Communicate quality and compliance updates on product issues, supplier due diligence and customer complaints, to drive a consistent quality culture across suppliers
  • Maintain positive relationships with Buying teams, external stakeholders and technical service providers
  • Act as the key contact for Quality Assurance queries within Buying
  • Manage correspondence and information flow with internal and external parties, ensuring clear actions, escalation where needed, and timely follow-up
  • Maintain full knowledge of Quality Policies and Procedures and help ensure they are applied correctly
  • Monitor/measure due diligence activities and take action to escalate and resolve compliance issues with suppliers
  • Suggest and implement improvements to systems for greater efficiency
  • Undertake training to keep up to date with legislative and industry requirements

About You

  • Proven technical experience across food manufacturing, quality and/or retail technical
  • Experience managing suppliers and driving supplier quality expectations
  • Strong food knowledge across multiple product areas and temperature regimes
  • HACCP Level 3 knowledge, with an understanding of food safety hazard control
  • Confidence influencing cross-functionally and at all levels across the business
  • Experience supporting customer complaint investigations and quality issue resolution
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Confident, professional, and able to communicate clearly with stakeholders
  • Strong ability to prioritise, manage workload, and work to deadlines
  • Competent in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High attention to detail and able to remain calm under pressure

  • Starting salary of £37,545 rising to £43,840
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working
  • 18 month fixed term contract
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays
