Food Safety & Brand Standards Auditor (Freelance)

📍 Based in Guildford | Covering Basingstoke, Cranleigh & Tadley

Engagement: Freelance Independent Contractor (Assignment-Based)

About the Opportunity

Join a global leader in food safety, brand protection, and operational excellence supporting internationally recognized hospitality and food service brands across the UK and Ireland.

As a Food Safety & Brand Standards Auditor, you will conduct on-site operational assessments, helping clients maintain high food safety standards, protect brand reputation, and continuously improve the guest experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who enjoy working independently, travelling within their territory, and building strong relationships with hospitality operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Safety & Brand Standards Audits
    • Conduct scheduled on-site food safety, health & hygiene, and brand standards assessments.
    • Evaluate operational compliance using established audit protocols.
    • Identify risks and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Client Consultancy
    • Provide practical recommendations on food safety and hygiene best practices.
    • Support clients in maintaining operational and brand standards.
    • Build trusted relationships with restaurant and hospitality teams.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Complete digital audit reports accurately and on time.
    • Maintain professional documentation of findings and recommendations.
  • Territory Management
    • Travel across your assigned territory.
    • Manage multiple assignments while maintaining high-quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Level 4 Food Safety qualification or equivalent recognised by BRC or SALSA.
  • Experience in food safety auditing within: Restaurants, Hospitality, Hotel Food & Beverage, Retail, Convenience Stores
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and sound judgement.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Multi-site hospitality or restaurant operations.
  • Operational audit experience.
  • Hotel Food & Beverage leadership.
  • Brand Standards auditing.
  • Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Experience working with international hospitality brands.

Additional Requirements

  • Based in or near Bournemouth.
  • Able to travel across Poole & Weymouth.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle.
  • Personal smartphone compatible with the audit application: Apple iOS 18+ or Android 14+
  • Flexible availability for weekday, evening and weekend assignments.
  • Comfortable working as an Independent Contractor.
