As a Food Safety & Quality (FS&Q) Technologist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products and services. You will be responsible for organizing and supporting a variety of activities, including the management of test results through our laboratory information management system (LIMS), interfacing with customer service for quality-related matters, document management, certifications, and quality assurance. In addition, you will support a team of specialists in several areas and subjects, providing the opportunity to be exposed to various areas of science and food science.

Reporting to the Quality and Food Safety Manager you will also collaborate and liaise with international quality and food safety team members, to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and share best quality practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal and external laboratories to coordinate sample testing and analysis.
  • Responsible for changes and updates to the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Identification and communication of any discrepancies or anomalies in analytical testing data & results.
  • Monitor and respond to customer service inquiries or complaints related to product quality and safety.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for product registrations.
  • Manage and coordinate the issuance of any relevant certificates.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of Kosher certification applications and renewals as required.
  • Be a member of the internal audit team.
  • Conduct and participate in benchmarking activities and assessments of products as part of quality evaluation processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or food safety role within the food industry is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and analyse data.
