Food Service Assistant - Salvation Army, Charter Row (Terms: Flexible, Term-Time Only, £13.45/hour)

About the Role

Aramark UK are recruiting a Food Service Assistant to work at Salvation Army, Charter Row, S14.

Your role will involve preparing and serving food while providing outstanding customer service, including:

  • Basic food preparation (e.g., making sandwiches and grab-and-go meals)
  • Operating tills and processing payments
  • Maintaining quality customer service
  • Performing a mix of back-of-house and front-of-house tasks

We uphold strict safeguarding policies, including Safer Recruitment Checks, enhanced DBS and references, per Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare & serve meals (preparing sandwiches, cold foods, drinks)
  • Conduct general kitchen duties (washing utensils, food prep, presentation)
  • Front-of-house service:
    • Tableside servicing
    • Customer service standards
    • Handling payments & till operations
    • Stock rotation & restocking
  • Cleaning tasks:
    • Sweeping, mopping & general backstage/front-of-house tidying
    • Maintaining high hygiene standards for premises

Training & Support: All employees receive on-the-job training and access to our e-learning portal to develop multi-skills for flexibility.

Key Requirements

✔ Customer service experience (essential) ✔ Ability to work in a team and adapt to varied tasks ✔ A driving license (must) – base is remote/out-of-town ✔ Previous catering experience desirable (not mandatory)
