Elan Valley is situated in the county of Powys in mid-Wales, just a couple of hours from Birmingham and Cardiff. We can be accessed easily from the nearby town of Rhayader where the town is well served by public transport.

What you’ll be responsible for

Supervising The Kitchen Mainly, And Support Front Of House Supervisor To Ensure Excellent Quality Food Is Delivered Whilst Maintaining a Safe Environment For All Persons On Site. This Will Include

  • Preparing, cooking and serving meals, managing and organising kitchen assistants to deliver high quality food
  • Ensuring the safety of all persons on site
  • Ordering all kitchen and goods for resale supplies from designated suppliers
  • Maintaining upkeep of all kitchen HACCP records at all times and to the required standard
  • Supervising and identifying training needs of colleagues to ensure excellent customer service
  • Striving to develop and improve the customer experience offering
  • Ensuring the service in the café and retail area is maintained to a high standard
  • Maintaining the food hygiene standards, upkeep and tidiness of the kitchen, retail and restaurant areas in accordance with Welsh Water Food safety procedures
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business

About You

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills

We are looking for a creative and positive person to join our team!

  • Good grasp of MS Office and experience using POS systems
  • Satisfactory DBS check
  • Practical health & safety and food safety experience in a visitor attraction or retail or restaurant environment
  • Experience working with the general public
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
  • Catering/Retail/Hospitality customer service experience
  • Ability to work on own initiative

Working pattern

37 hours over 5 days out of 7
Typical shift patterns: either 8.30am-4.30pm or 10am-6.30pm (flexibility considered)
