Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and customer-focused Food Services Supervisor to join our busy Food Services team within Estates and Facilities working across both City & Headingley Campus.

As Food Services Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day organisation and delivery of food, retail and hospitality services across the University. Working closely with the Food Services Manager, you will supervise and support a team of General Assistants, ensuring that our services operate safely, efficiently and to consistently high standards.

You will be responsible for coordinating staffing and workloads, including rota planning and the management of sessional and casual staff, while ensuring that our customers receive an excellent service. You will also take a hands-on approach to resolving customer queries and complaints, supporting colleagues and maintaining a welcoming environment for students, staff, conference delegates and visitors.

This is a varied role where no two days are necessarily the same. You will support food, retail and hospitality activity across the University, including internal and external events, and will contribute to initiatives designed to improve customer experience, sales and service delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
