Description
IOCP is developing a mobile food shelf program. To continue developing this program, IOCP needs a Food Shelf Mobile Leader! Please read below for more information about this new position and how you can apply!

- Compensation: $23.95 per hour
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Occasional Monday or Thursday evenings. Schedule subject to shift with program development.

What is the work?
- Manage Mobile Food Shelf Program
- Prepare for mobile food shelf events by ensuring adequate inventory, supplies, coolers, and equipment are organized and ready to support
- Transport food, signage, coolers, and supplies to each shopping location leveraging volunteers
- Lead volunteer effort to set up and merchandise community-rooms to support an efficient and welcoming client check-in and shopping experience
- Manage food distribution and volunteers at mobile food shelf events, overseeing guest intake, product replenishment, and responding to guest questions and concerns
- Manage tear down of mobile events and accurately record pounds distributed and families served in system
- Keep mobile food shelf policies and procedures up to date
- Ensure that all safety and security procedures are followed
- Document learnings to support improvement and program growth
- Support Food Shelf Distribution, Inventory Prep, Home Delivery, and Other Food Shelf Processes
- Be knowledgeable and understand key food shelf processes (inventory prep, distribution, home delivery) for coverage and team support purposes
- Be knowledgeable and understand key food shelf systems and excel tools (inventory prep, distribution, home delivery) for coverage and team support purposes
- Volunteer Support
- Welcome volunteers; meet to provide direction for the shift and assign volunteer responsibilities
- Support, train and coach volunteers on how to work with clients so they experience dignity and belonging when using the food shelf

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- 3 years of experience providing exceptional customer services to diverse groups of people
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, utilize pallet jack, carts, and other warehouse equipment
- Ability to drive cargo van and 16 foot box truck
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of people and build trusting relationships
- Strong technical skills with knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience working with diverse communities and cultures
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with staff and volunteers; strong team player
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Timely and reliable
- Ability to work independently; be self-directed with strong execution and follow through
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a timely manner
- Flexible and adaptable, able to fill in as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a human services setting
- Experience working in a food shelf
- Inventory and/or warehouse management in a food service setting
- Experience in food service, grocery or food delivery setting
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, Somali or Russian
