About The Role

The University of Nottingham's Food Systems Institute (FSI) is seeking an experienced and creative Communications and Marketing Manager to raise the profile of our world-leading research and innovation activities.

Working closely with academics, researchers and professional services colleagues, you will lead the development and delivery of communications, engagement and marketing strategies that showcase the impact of our research and strengthen our reputation nationally and internationally. You will translate complex scientific research into engaging content for a wide range of audiences, managing campaigns across digital and traditional channels, delivering events, and supporting stakeholder engagement activities.

A key aspect of the role will be promoting commercial services and opportunities linked to our new Agri-Food and Drink Innovation Gateway, helping businesses connect with the University's expertise, facilities and innovation support.

About The Team

The Food Systems Institute brings together leading researchers from across disciplines to address complex food system challenges through collaboration, innovation and impact. You will work as part of a small, ambitious and supportive team while collaborating extensively with colleagues across the University, including External Relations, Research and Innovation, the Food Innovation Centre, and academic departments.

About You

You will have:

  • Experience in communications, marketing or public engagement, ideally within a science, research or innovation environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Experience of developing websites, digital content and multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
