Coach Hene Memorial Foundation is a community sports initiative established in honor of the late legendary Ghana national team coach E. K. Afranie. The foundation is dedicated to making football and other sports affordable and accessible to children in Manchester and the wider North West of the United Kingdom. Its mission is to identify and develop raw talent while building confidence and character in young participants. With youth football at the core of its activities, the foundation aims to create pathways for children to grow as athletes and individuals. Coach Hene Memorial Foundation operates as a registered charity (Charity number: 1194507), reinforcing its commitment to community impact and youth development.
Role Description
The Football Coach will lead and support youth football sessions, including planning and delivering age-appropriate training activities and drills in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. This is an on-site role that involves organizing practice sessions, mentoring young players, and promoting safe, inclusive, and enjoyable participation for all. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Developing players’ technical and tactical skills
- Providing constructive feedback
- Coordinating with other coaches and volunteers

The coach will also help identify emerging talent, encourage positive behavior and teamwork, and uphold the foundation’s values in all interactions with players, families, and the local community.
Qualifications
- Strong Football Coaching and general Coaching skills, with experience working with youth players.
- Practical Football knowledge, including basic tactics, techniques, and understanding of age-appropriate training methods.
- Excellent Communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, volunteers, and community partners.
- Training and session-planning abilities to design safe, structured, and engaging practice activities.
- Ideally have relevant coaching certifications (e.g., FA coaching badges or equivalent) and prior experience in grassroots or community football.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion, with the ability to serve as a positive role model for young participants.
- Be able to work on-site in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, including some evenings and weekends as required.
