FC Marylebone is a grassroots football club in central London, offering boys and girls aged 3–16 inclusive access to the game. Founded in 2019, the club is guided by the principle of “Football for All,” promoting equal opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds, ages, and genders. A team of experienced coaches with lifelong connections to football fosters a welcoming, community-focused environment.
FC Marylebone holds England Football Accreditation 2 Stars and the Active Westminster Mark.
Role Description
The Football Coach role at FC Marylebone is a part-time, remote position focused on planning and delivering engaging football sessions for children aged 3–16. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Designing age-appropriate training plans
- Providing clear coaching instructions
- Offering constructive feedback to support players’ technical, tactical, and physical development
- Maintaining regular communication with parents and guardians
- Coordinating session schedules
- Updating training materials and online resources as needed

This role also involves:
- Collaborating with other coaches to ensure consistent standards
- Promoting the club’s values of inclusivity and fair play
- Supporting the ongoing development of FC Marylebone’s coaching philosophy
FC Marylebone is represented by boys and girls teams in leagues such as Regent’s Park Youth League, Camden & Islington Youth League, Girs Super League, Camden Youth League, Harrow League, and in the new season 26/27 in Junior Premier League.
Qualifications
- Strong Football Coaching and general Coaching skills, with experience working with children and youth teams.
- Solid Football knowledge, including fundamentals, tactics, and age-appropriate training methods.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to engage children, liaise with parents or guardians, and collaborate with fellow coaches.
- Training skills, including session planning, player development, and safe practice management.
- Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., FA or equivalent), safeguarding and first aid training, and experience in grassroots or community sport are highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, demonstrate inclusivity, and uphold the club’s “Football for All” values is essential.
