Role Description
The Football Commentator will deliver live match commentary and analysis for grassroots and lower league football games, capturing the pace, emotion, and key narratives on matchdays. This is a contract, on-site role based in Kilwinning, requiring regular attendance at fixtures and production venues. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Preparing thoroughly for matches through research on teams, players, statistics, and storylines.
- Collaborating with producers, camera operators, and co-commentators to deliver smooth, engaging live coverage.
- Adapting commentary style to suit different formats such as full match broadcasts, highlight reels, and social clips.
- Contributing to pre- and post-match segments, interviews, and occasional podcast appearances.
- Maintaining professional standards of accuracy, impartiality, and respect for all participants and audiences.

Qualifications
- Strong live football commentary and match analysis skills, with the ability to react quickly and communicate clearly under pressure.
- Demonstrated research and preparation skills, including building match notes, understanding tactics, and identifying key storylines in grassroots football.
- Excellent verbal communication, clear diction, and confident on-mic presence suitable for live streaming and recorded content.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production teams, follow technical cues, and adapt to different broadcast formats and environments.
- Professional conduct, reliability, and the ability to attend on-site fixtures in Kilwinning, often during evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of Scottish and UK football structures, lower league culture, and grassroots communities is highly beneficial.
- Previous experience in sports commentary, presenting, journalism, podcasting, or related media roles is an advantage.
- Comfort with basic broadcast or audio equipment and a willingness to learn production workflows.
