Role Description
This remote Football Journalist internship role involves researching and writing news stories, match reports, features, and opinion pieces related to football at various levels. Interns will monitor football news and social media, pitch story ideas, conduct interviews where appropriate, and produce timely, accurate, and engaging articles for online publication. Day-to-day tasks include fact-checking information, collaborating with editors, adapting content to The Manna Post’s style guidelines, and supporting coverage of major football events. This is an unpaid internship designed to help emerging journalists build their portfolio, gain practical experience, and develop professional skills in sports media.

- Strong Writing and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate football-related content.
- Ability to create Press Releases and formal announcements related to football news, events, or organizational updates.
- Solid Research skills to verify facts, gather background information, and follow developments in domestic and international football.
- Interest or experience in Broadcasting, including basic understanding of audio or video storytelling for sports coverage.
- Demonstrated passion for football and sports journalism, including knowledge of leagues, teams, and current issues.
- Strong command of written English and attention to detail, including grammar, structure, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, meet deadlines, and respond constructively to editorial feedback.
- Relevant academic background or training in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
