Football Marathon Lead
Here at Tackle, we are extending our amazing Football Marathons across the UK and are looking for the right people to lead that process in their area.
Love football? Care about development? Can recruit teams for the best football challenge event out there?
This year we ran five Football Marathon events and in 2027 we want to run even more and we need your help.
Are you based in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle or Nottingham? Think you can recruit a minimum of 8 teams of 8 players in your region to take on the 12-hour challenge and raise money for the fantastic work of Tackle?
Tackle has the Event Management and Event Fundraising experience, we’ll support you every step of the way and run the event on the day, but we need you as Regional Lead for your local knowledge and to mobilise your own and the local football playing communities/networks to make it a success.

Role Details
- 1 day a week (7 hours) role
- Starting October 2026
- Ending post event (summer 2027) – will repeat as annual role Jan to July if successful
- £500/month
- Opportunities to visit our programmes across Africa
Who are we?
Tackle is a social impact organization that uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people across sub-Saharan Africa. We train local coaches to run interactive football drills that integrate health messaging for youth in their clubs and communities. Football provides a consistent, engaging platform for health education that traditional programmes and clinics often struggle to achieve. Through its approach, Tackle creates safe spaces for young people to discuss sensitive issues, build knowledge and confidence, and access youth-friendly services such as HIV testing and counseling.
