Job Description
Our technology team is actively seeking a Forecast Analyst to support the Phase 1 Smart Retail Ordering (SRO) project, helping transform forecasting, replenishment and stock decisions across depots and stores. Acting as a forecasting subject matter expert, the role will own forecasting activity across the pilot, using analytical and commercial judgement to interpret and challenge system-generated forecasts. Working closely with business teams, Data Science, Product and the solution vendor, the analyst will help shape future forecasting processes and decision-making while developing expertise as an early SRO superuser.

What You’ll Do as Forecast Analyst
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Own end-to-end forecasting across products, stores and workflows, ensuring effective delivery throughout the SRO pilot.
- Analyse and challenge forecast outputs, identifying unusual patterns, risks and exceptions while applying strong trading and commercial judgement.
- Investigate and resolve forecasting issues, partnering with Data Science, Data Governance, Product and vendor teams to identify root causes and drive solutions.
- Collaborate across the business, working with Buying & Merchandising, Retail, Planning & Space and Supply Chain to ensure forecasts support commercial and operational priorities.
- Shape and validate the future forecasting solution through design sessions, testing and process validation, helping define scalable workflows, governance, decision rights and escalation routes.
- Become an SRO forecasting superuser, building deep system expertise, capturing pilot insights and supporting training, user readiness, adoption and future rollout phases.

- Proven experience in forecasting, merchandising, planning, allocation, supply chain or commercial analysis within a retail environment.
- Strong ability to interpret complex data, identify key trends and translate insights into clear commercial actions.
- Strong understanding of customer demand, forecasting, stock management and trading performance.
- Able to investigate performance issues, identify root causes and confidently challenge system outputs using data and commercial insight.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
- Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and making sound decisions, with forecasting systems, retail transformation or technology implementation experience being an advantage.
