Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Bonus

The Role
NEOS Engineering are working with a leading earthworks contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK, including HS2, Sizewell C, and the Lower Thames Crossing. They are looking for an experienced Foreman to join the team on the Lower Thames Crossing, taking responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of earthworks within your section of the project.
This is a hands-on position, managing people, plant, and materials while working closely with the Works Manager and Engineering team to keep production moving safely, efficiently, and to programme.
You'll be responsible for making sure the work is delivered to the required quality standards, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, productivity, and environmental compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and coordinating earthworks teams to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
- Managing the day-to-day use of plant, labour, and materials across your section.
- Carrying out regular site checks and ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained.
- Working with the Works Manager and Engineering team to plan and deliver work against the programme.
- Monitoring production and ensuring activities are delivered to the required specification.
- Managing materials including stone, geotextiles, water, gas oil, and AdBlue.
- Ensuring daily plant checks are completed and any defects are dealt with promptly.
- Maintaining accurate daily records and allocation sheets.
- Working to ITPs, hold points, company procedures, and Permit to Work requirements.
- Providing feedback on team performance and supporting the development of site personnel.
- Liaising professionally with client representatives and other project stakeholders.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Foreman / General Foreman / Earthworks Supervisor on major civils or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in bulk earthworks and heavy civils.
- Good understanding of plant utilisation, machine/application matching, and production outputs.
- Experience working with GPS machine control/guidance.
- Knowledge of the Series 600 Specification for Highway Works.
- Ability to understand and deliver works against a 3-week programme.
- Experience working with ITPs, quality requirements, and hold points.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Confident leading multiple teams and coordinating plant and resources.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deal confidently with clients and site management.
