FOREMAN Lower Thames Crossing – Basildon | £55,000–£65,000 + Bonus + Benefits | Permanent

NEOS Engineering are currently recruiting for an experienced Foreman to join an established engineering contractor delivering major bulk earthworks on the Lower Thames Crossing project.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Earthworks Foreman / Site Foreman to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of works across their section of this major infrastructure project.

You'll provide hands-on leadership to site teams, coordinating people, plant and materials to maximise productivity while ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Role

As Foreman, you'll be a key point of contact on site, working closely with the Works Manager, Engineering team and Supervisors to plan and deliver earthworks activities in line with the project programme.

You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards across health & safety, quality, productivity and environmental compliance, while ensuring your teams have the resources and support required to deliver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate earthworks teams to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
  • Carry out daily site visits and ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Work closely with Supervisors to provide hands-on leadership and drive production.
  • Plan and coordinate daily activities alongside the Works Manager and Engineering team.
  • Deliver works in line with the 3-week programme and project requirements.
  • Ensure approved construction methods are followed and all ITPs and Hold Points are adhered to.
  • Coordinate daily material requirements including gas oil, water, AdBlue, imported stone and geotextiles.
  • Complete Daily Allocation Sheets and maintain accurate digital site records.
  • Collect and review daily plant checks, ensuring defective equipment is reported and dealt with promptly.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to management to support development and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, Permit to Work requirements and client procedures.
  • Work professionally with client representatives and other project stakeholders.
  • Support the Works Manager in maintaining strong site standards and protecting the company's interests.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
