The company specializes in fabricated steel and pipe work, with strong expertise across offshore energy, marine, and general steel sectors. AFAB provides both onshore fabrication and full offshore mobilization and installation services, supporting projects worldwide. Its teams of qualified welders and fitters maintain up-to-date offshore documentation and prioritize meeting customer requirements on time. From design through installation, AFAB offers tailored, end-to-end fabrication services to a diverse client base.
Role Description
The Foreman – Fabrication & Welding is a full-time position. This position oversees daily fabrication and welding operations, including:

- Planning work schedules
- Allocating tasks
- Supervising welders, fitters, and other team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met
- Monitoring the use and maintenance of heavy equipment and tools
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and industry regulations
- Coordinating materials and resources on the shop floor and, where required, for offshore work
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Supporting installation activities
- Conducting inspections of completed work
- Providing clear communication between the workshop, project managers, and clients
- Training and mentoring team members
- Driving continuous improvement in fabrication processes
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed

Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, task allocation, and performance monitoring
- Experience operating and overseeing heavy equipment used in fabrication, welding, and installation activities
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, offshore personnel, and clients
- Proficiency in maintenance of welding equipment, fabrication machinery, and workshop tools
- Extensive experience in fabrication and welding within oil and gas, marine, or heavy industry environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and welding procedures
- Strong focus on health, safety, and environmental standards, with knowledge of relevant regulations
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in fabrication/welding or a related discipline
- Offshore certification and willingness to travel offshore when required
