Role Overview
This role sits within FRP's Forensic Services team in Belfast and focuses on delivering forensic accounting services in relation to personal injury matters. Working closely with solicitors, insurers, counsel and other stakeholders, you will manage engagements involving the quantification of financial losses and support clients through complex claims and disputes. You will also play an important role in developing junior team members and supporting the continued growth of FRP's Forensic Services practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of personal injury forensic accounting engagements, acting as the primary contact for solicitors, insurers, counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and review financial loss calculations, including loss of earnings, business losses, pension losses, care claims, and dependency claims.
- Analyse financial, employment, business, and tax records to quantify past and future economic losses.
- Identify key quantum issues, determine information requirements, and assess supporting evidence.
- Assist in developing case strategy and advising on approaches to loss quantification.
- Prepare and review expert reports, schedules of loss, joint statements, and critiques of opposing expert evidence.
- Support expert witness assignments, including conferences with counsel, mediations, and court proceedings where required.
- Manage case deadlines, budgets, and resource requirements, ensuring efficient delivery of engagements.
- Review and supervise the work of junior team members, providing coaching and technical guidance.
- Contribute to practice development through business development, client relationship management, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take a leading role in the development and growth of the personal injury practice, identifying opportunities to expand client relationships, enhance service offerings, and strengthen the firm's market presence within the personal injury sector.

Qualifications
Essential
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience within forensic accounting, disputes, expert witness or personal injury-related work
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- Experience reviewing complex financial information and producing high-quality written reports
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines
- Experience supervising, mentoring or reviewing the work of others
Desirable
- Experience preparing expert reports, schedules of loss or joint statements
- Experience working with solicitors, insurers, counsel or other legal professionals
- Knowledge of personal injury, clinical negligence or fatal accident claims
- Expert witness training or other relevant specialist qualifications
