This is a unique opportunity to join a highly skilled Digital Forensics Unit supporting investigations across Norfolk and Suffolk. Working with industry-leading forensic tools and techniques, you will examine complex digital evidence, provide specialist advice to investigators, and play a key role in delivering justice for victims and communities.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Forensic Analyst to join the Digital Forensics Unit at Halesworth Police Station. This is a full-time, site-based role working within a fully accredited digital forensic environment.
You will be responsible for the forensic examination and analysis of digital devices, providing evidential findings and technical advice to investigating officers. The role requires the application of specialist forensic techniques to recover, analyse and present digital evidence in accordance with legislation, national guidance, accreditation requirements, and the Forensic Science Regulator's Code of Practice.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Recover, analyse and interpret digital evidence from computers, mobile devices and other digital media to evidential standards
- Utilise specialist forensic software and tools to examine a wide range of digital devices and systems
- Produce evidential reports, statements and exhibits suitable for criminal investigations and court proceedings
- Maintain continuity of evidence and ensure all records are accurate, auditable and compliant with forensic standards
- Process recovered data into a format suitable for investigators to assess evidential value
- Provide specialist advice and technical support to investigators and operational teams, including support to search warrants where required
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, national guidance, accreditation standards and the Digital Forensics Unit Quality Management System
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and digital forensic techniques to support operational policing requirements
- Attend court and provide expert evidence where required
- Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role as required.

What We're Looking For
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in digital forensics with proven technical competence in the recovery, analysis and processing of data from digital devices
- Successful completion of the College of Policing Core Skills in Data Recovery & Analysis (CEDRA) course or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to examination and reporting
- Experience of managing forensic caseloads, prioritising workloads and delivering against deadlines
- Ability to produce accurate, detailed and high-quality evidential reports
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with investigators, partners and external agencies
- Ability to quickly absorb complex technical information and apply it within a sensitive and highly confidential environment
- Ability to travel across Norfolk and Suffolk as required.

Desirable Criteria
- Degree-level qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in exhibit handling, evidence continuity, and evidential presentation.
Additional Information
- This is a non-hybrid, location-based role requiring attendance at Halesworth Police Station
- Occasional travel to other police sites across Norfolk and Suffolk may be required
- The successful applicant will be required to undertake and maintain continuing professional development and complete relevant specialist training
- The role requires Security Check (SC) clearance
- The post holder will be exposed to potentially distressing material, including indecent images of children (IIOC), and appropriate welfare support and mandatory counselling provisions are in place
