Forensic Investigator

Job Location: Northwest England
Job Type: Permanent
Remuneration: Competitive salary based on skills, experience, and qualifications

Join EFI Global UK as a Forensic Investigator and play a pivotal role in uncovering the causes behind complex incidents. Your investigations and expert opinion will support insurance and legal claims processes, while helping clients understand the circumstances surrounding a loss.

EFI Global UK, part of the internationally respected EFI Global Inc and Sedgwick Group, delivers impartial expert opinion in environmental consultancy and forensic investigations. With a client base that includes insurance companies, brokers, loss adjusters, government bodies, and private individuals, we are entering a transformative phase of growth, creating opportunities for individuals who are eager to contribute, embrace new challenges, and help build a stronger future for EFI Global and the wider Sedgwick Group.

We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Forensic Investigator to join our expanding fire investigation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to investigate fire and explosion incidents across domestic, commercial, and industrial settings, including complex and high-value losses. As a Forensic Investigator, you will be responsible for determining the origin, cause and development of fires through systematic scene examination, evidence collection, witness interviews, and scientific analysis. You will work closely with senior investigators, insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, and other stakeholders to provide impartial, evidence-based conclusions.

The position combines practical fire scene investigation with technical report writing and analytical assessment. You will attend fire scenes throughout the UK, document findings, examine electrical and mechanical appliances, recover evidence, and assist in developing robust technical conclusions. The role provides excellent opportunities to develop specialist expertise through structured training, mentoring, and professional development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
