Forensic Psychologist - Low Secure Service
Location: Derbyshire
Salary: £50,500 per annum
Hours: Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week (flexibility available)
Are you a HCPC Registered Forensic Psychologist looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a specialist forensic mental health setting? We are recruiting for a Forensic Psychologist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team within a low secure service supporting adult males with complex mental health needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician to deliver high-quality psychological assessments and interventions while playing a key role in supporting patient recovery and positive outcomes.
The Role
As a Forensic Psychologist, you will provide specialist psychological input within a multidisciplinary environment, supporting the assessment, formulation and delivery of personalised treatment plans.
- You will work closely with patients, families, carers and clinical colleagues to ensure care is person-centred, recovery-focused and delivered to the highest standards.
- You will manage an allocated caseload, provide individual and group interventions, contribute to MDT discussions and support the ongoing development of therapeutic approaches within the service.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete psychological assessments following referrals and develop effective, person-centred treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based individual and group psychological interventions tailored to patient needs.
- Manage an allocated caseload, ensuring effective communication with patients and the wider clinical team.
- Contribute specialist psychological advice and guidance within multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, reports and documentation.
- Support the evaluation and development of therapeutic interventions based on best practice and evidence-based research.
- Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to promote recovery, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- A recognised postgraduate qualification leading to eligibility for HCPC registration.
- Experience working within a mental health setting, ideally within forensic services.
- Strong assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention skills.
- The ability to build positive therapeutic relationships with patients, families, carers and professionals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:
- British Psychological Society (BPS) registration.
