Forensic Science Lecturer
Location: Angel
Salary: £28,550 – £54,055 per annum pro rata
Hours: 28 hours per week
Contract: Temporary, Ongoing
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Forensic Science Lecturer to join a leading Further Education college in Angel. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Science or Forensic Science specialist to join a well-established curriculum team on a temporary, ongoing basis.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and assessment across BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Forensic Science programmes, with teaching covering Biology, Chemistry, and Forensic Science.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and assessing Biology, Chemistry, and Forensic Science units up to Level 3.
- Acting as a course tutor and providing effective academic and pastoral support to students.
- Supporting students with their learning, progress, and development.
- Preparing and delivering high-quality lessons and assessment materials.
- Supporting internal moderation and quality assurance processes.
- Maintaining accurate student records and course documentation.
- Liaising with employers, universities, and awarding bodies.
- Supporting students in securing and completing mandatory work experience.
- Contributing to the development and coordination of new and existing courses.
- Supporting students to develop their English and Maths skills within the curriculum.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and continuous improvement.

About You
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Science or Forensic Science, with experience teaching or training in a Further Education or similar setting.
Essential requirements:
- An Honours Degree in Science, Forensic Science, or a relevant subject.
- A teaching qualification or willingness to gain one.
- Experience teaching or training in Science or Forensic Science-related subjects.
- Ability to teach and assess Biology, Chemistry, and/or Forensic Science up to Level 3.
- Experience supporting students as a subject teacher and course tutor.
- Good understanding of course specifications, assessment, and quality assurance processes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employers, universities, and awarding bodies.
- A commitment to supporting student achievement and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
