Summary
This role offers a 3-month contract with a local authority, providing specialized arboricultural expertise across various tree management, planning, development, and infrastructure projects within the borough. The position involves conducting tree inspections, risk assessments, and arboricultural surveys, as well as generating technical reports and recommendations. The successful candidate will offer professional advice on the management, retention, protection, and removal of trees.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive tree condition inspections and risk assessments for the Council's tree stock and woodland assets.
- Perform inspections using established arboricultural methodologies, including the VALID tree risk assessment principles.
- Assist in implementing tree risk management programs and inspection schedules.
- Identify and prioritize necessary remedial actions to mitigate tree-related risks.

Requirements:
- Extensive experience in conducting tree inspections and risk assessments.
- Proven experience with recognized tree inspection methodologies, including VALID.
- Experience in performing BS5837 surveys and assessments.
- Ability to produce detailed technical arboricultural reports and recommendations.
- Experience in advising on tree management, retention, and removal.

Essential Qualifications
- Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) qualification or an equivalent recognized tree inspection qualification.
- National Diploma in Arboriculture (NDip) or an equivalent arboricultural qualification.
- Valid Full UK Driving Licence.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 16 hours per week, part-time.
- Location: Moat Lane Depot, Solihull.
- Contract: Ongoing Contract Assignment.
- Reporting To: Forestry Service Manager.
- Payment Schedule: Bi-weekly.
- Rate: £36/HR Umbrella.
