Operating from depots in Oldbury and Telford and a satellite office in Kenilworth, the company serves customers across the West Midlands and surrounding regions. Role Description

The Forklift Mechanic role is a full-time, on-site position based in Coventry. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a range of forklifts, carrying out scheduled servicing, and performing repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation.   • Completing maintenance records
  • Following manufacturer guidelines and safety standards

The Forklift Mechanic will also respond to breakdowns, support colleagues and customers with technical queries, and help maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in mechanical diagnosis, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical fault-finding on industrial or material handling equipment.
  • Candidates should possess skills in routine maintenance, servicing, and repair of forklifts or similar heavy machinery, including parts replacement and adjustments.
  • Candidates should possess skills in using diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and reading technical manuals, diagrams, and service documents.
  • Candidates should possess skills in maintaining accurate service records, following health and safety procedures, and adhering to manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Relevant qualifications such as an apprenticeship or vocational certification in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or plant maintenance are beneficial.
  • Experience working as a forklift, plant, or heavy equipment mechanic, and a valid driver’s license are advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
