Job Description:
Qualified Forklift/Plant and Machinery and Health and Safety Instructor/Trainer
We are ideally seeking a qualified ITSSAR (or AITT, RTITB, LANTRA or NPORS) Instructor on a full time basis. Consideration will also be given to those wishing to work on a part time basis (please state if this is the case on your application)
Main purpose of job:
Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a qualified ITSSAR (or equivalent) Forklift Instructor to deliver effective and efficient training programmes that enables current and future candidates to progress towards and achieve relevant qualification in a timely manner. Working in a warehouse environment you will be expected to facilitate the effective and efficient upskilling our current candidates both at our training centre and at clients sites as required.
You must have experience in delivering ITSSAR (or AITT, RTITB, LANTRA or NPORS Forklift Truck Training courses, to fully prepare candidates to achieve the qualifications and obtain their Forklift Truck operator cards.

- Act as a personal tutor/mentor to groups of learners in order to train, review, monitor and assess learners.
- Maintain learners’ individual files and tracking documents/registers ensuring assessments are completed to the required standards.
- Provide an engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Support the development of this area of curriculum provision to awarding body standards including theoretical and practical training sessions.
- Make sure that assessment strategies used are inclusive.
- Keep and maintain accurate learner records.
- Prepare and set up training area for courses taking place. Conducting training courses as laid out by the Awarding Organisations to a high standard.
- Handling confidential information.
- Assist management by ensuring that your paperwork is accurate, legible and meets the requirements laid down by the relevant awarding organisations
Experience & Requirements:
- ITSSAR (or similar) valid Instructor / Examiner certificate is required to deliver this role (Essential)
- Other awarding body organisation valid Instructor / Examiner certificates will be considered such as CPCS, IPAF or PASMA alongside ITSSAR equivalents (AITT, RTITB, LANTRA or NPORS)
- A good knowledge of IT (Essential)
- Experience of coaching/mentoring people with mixed abilities from novice operators through to experienced and renewal candidates (Essential)
- Willingness and ability to travel to clients sites, own transport required (Essential)
- Manual Handling trainer (Desirable)
- Plant Categories (Desirable)
- Current First Aid certificate (Desirable but training can be provided)

- Permanent position
- Salary dependant on the number of different categories you can Instruct on
- 5 days a week – 08:30 – 17:00
- Holiday Entitlement – 30 days per annum
- Travel allowance paid for travelling to clients sites
