Overview
A third-party logistics business based near Leighton Buzzard is hiring a Forklift Truck Driver on a permanent, full-time basis. Pay is structured by licence coverage: £13.80 per hour for one licence, £14.00 for two, £14.20 for three, and £14.40 for four. The shift pattern is fixed: Sundays 9am to 8pm, and Monday to Thursday 12 noon to 9.30pm. Benefits include a pension and an employee assistance programme.
This is a hands-on warehouse role inside a fast-moving 3PL operation, where the plan can change multiple times across a single shift as client priorities evolve. The business prides itself on being more than a faceless logistics provider, and the team reflects that: people here engage with each other, have fun, and genuinely care about the environment they work in. If you want a role where you clock in, keep your head down, and clock out, this probably isn't it. If you want to be part of a team that performs to strict KPIs and still enjoys the shift, it could be a great fit.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Team and Culture
- A team that takes the work seriously and still makes the shift enjoyable
- Engagement matters here: people talk, support each other, and are present
- Corporate, clock-watching habits don't fit well; energy and attitude do
- Fast-moving by design, because client needs drive the pace
Challenges
- The plan changes all day: client priorities shift, and the floor has to move with them
- The shift pattern is fixed and long, covering Sundays and four weekday afternoons into the evening, so candidates need to be certain it works for their life before applying
- Holding all four licences is both an entry requirement and a pay driver, so anyone coming in with gaps will need to address them
