Forming Manager | Elton, Cheshire
Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 8-5 Fri 8-3.15 (39.5 hours)
Permanent | Salary - £75,000 - £82,000
We’re looking for an experienced Forming Manager to lead our Hot End Forming operation at Elton.
As a key technical and operational leader, you’ll oversee Forehearth, Job Change, Mould Shop and Forming Specialist functions, working closely with Operations, Tank Managers, NPD and Central Forming Development to drive safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop the Forming team, including Forming Supervisors and Specialists.
- Drive safety, quality, productivity and operational excellence across the Hot End.
- Lead continuous improvement, KPI performance and root cause analysis.
- Ensure consistent standards across IS machine and Forming operations.
- Work with NPD and development teams to improve first production and productivity.
- Support the introduction and effective use of new technology and mould standards.
- Work closely with Planning, Furnace, Forehearth and wider Operations teams.
- Develop best-practice training and capability across Forming.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, within the glass industry.
- Extensive Hot End and Forming experience.
- Proven people leadership and team development experience.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of Lean/continuous improvement, including RCA, 6S and autonomous maintenance.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and operational excellence.
