We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join the Formulation Development department supporting the formulation and process development of respiratory drug products in the MannKind pipeline.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support development and optimization of engineered particle inhaled dosage forms.
- Perform physiochemical property characterization of drug product intermediates.
- Support batch manufacture for development, pre-clinical studies.
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments to support formulation and process development, with supervision.
- Document, compile, review, and present data.
- Handle hazardous materials and chemicals in accordance with MannKind’s safety policies and procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Comply with good laboratory practice including maintenance of laboratory notebooks and written procedures.
- Observe all Company, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.
What You Bring to the Table
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Pharmaceutical Engineering, preferably within 1-2 years of graduation.
- Strong foundation in science and engineering principles.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Fluency in MS Office software.
- Demonstrates eagerness to learn new techniques and procedures.
- Accuracy in following instructions, generating data, and documenting data and procedures.

Bonus Points If You Have
- Prior experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or biotech industries.
- Superior time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with general laboratory procedures is a plus.
- Intrinsic motivation to continually improve and optimize processes.
- Initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and act on them without needing constant direction.
- Open to constructive criticism and use it to improve performance and grow professionally.
When and Where You'll Shine
- Full-time commitment, Monday to Friday, onsite.
- Location: Bedford, MA 01730.
- Spring 2027: January 4 - June 25, 2027.
- A reliable commute or the intention to find temporary housing before starting the Co-op is required.
