The Role
At Quotient Sciences, everyday counts when bringing new medicines to patients. As a Formulation Scientist, you'll play an important role in transforming promising drug candidates into pharmaceutical products suitable for clinical development.
Working within our Formulation Development team, you'll support a diverse range of formulation development activities, from early-stage pre-formulation studies and formulation characterisation through to transferring processes into GMP clinical manufacturing. This is a hands-on laboratory role offering the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, develop specialist technical expertise, and contribute to the delivery of innovative medicines in a collaborative and science-led environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan and conduct formulation development studies in line with project requirements and agreed timelines.
- Perform pre-formulation assessments and formulation characterisation activities to support product development.
- Develop, optimise and validate radiolabelling methods where required.
- Support the transfer of formulation and radiolabelling processes into GMP clinical manufacturing environments.
- Prepare experimental protocols, technical documents and study reports.
- Analyse and interpret scientific data, ensuring results are accurately recorded and reported.
- Maintain clear, detailed and compliant laboratory records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate study progress, results and recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with GMP, GxP, health and safety and radiological safety requirements.
- Safely handle, store and dispose of radioactive isotopes in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Support the sourcing, management and control of formulation excipients and development materials.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables and workspaces to ensure a safe and effective working environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and support wider team objectives as required.

Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry or another closely related scientific discipline.
- Strong scientific and laboratory skills with a methodical approach to experimental work.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and safety.
- Previous experience in formulation development within the pharmaceutical industry or a similar laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of pre-formulation and formulation characterisation techniques.
- Experience working within a GMP or another regulated environment.
Desirable
- Knowledge of radiolabelling techniques or radioisotope handling.
- Experience preparing scientific reports, protocols and technical documentation.
