12 Months Fixed Term Contract

As an NPD Formulation Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in developing and testing new product formulations, working alongside experts in R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to turn ideas into market-ready innovations.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Prepare, blend, and manufacture laboratory-scale formulations in accordance with development plans, protocols, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct product testing, evaluations, and data collection to support the development and optimisation of tobacco and nicotine products.
  • Accurately record experimental results, maintain laboratory documentation, and ensure all data is captured in line with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Support pilot plant and manufacturing trials, providing technical input to help scale products from laboratory development to commercial production.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and workspaces to ensure a safe, organised, and compliant working environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing to deliver innovation projects on time and to specification.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Qualification in Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, product development, quality, or manufacturing environment, ideally within FMCG, tobacco, nicotine, food, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong practical laboratory skills, with experience accurately preparing, handling, and testing formulations or raw materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills, with the ability to maintain accurate experimental data and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and support the development of practical solutions.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
