Forward Deployed AI Engineer | Defence AI Start-Up | London

Forward Deployed AI Engineer required to join a rapidly growing London-based defence AI start-up building next-generation autonomous and AI-driven systems supporting critical national security missions.

Founded by experienced operators and technologists, and backed by leading investors, the company is entering an exciting growth phase. This is an opportunity to work directly with customers, deploying AI solutions into mission-critical environments, solving complex technical challenges, and helping shape products used in real-world defence applications.

You are:

  • An AI / ML Engineer with 3+ years of professional experience and strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Proficient in Python and comfortable building modern applications using TypeScript
  • Experienced building AI-powered applications, LLM integrations, AI agents, Machine Learning or automation systems
  • Comfortable working directly with customers to understand technical challenges and deliver practical solutions
  • A strong communicator who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments
  • Interested in AI, autonomy, defence, or mission-critical technologies
