Forward Deployed AI Engineer
London - Remote first (1 day per week/fortnight in office) | Travel to London Client Sites as Required | £70,000+ (Flexible DOE) + Equity + Bonus
Gravitas is partnering with an innovative AI software company to hire a Forward Deployed AI Engineer.
This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most exciting AI scale-ups, building agentic AI systems that are transforming operations within highly regulated industries. Working with enterprise customers and leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, you'll play a key role in taking complex business challenges and turning them into production-ready solutions that deliver measurable impact.
This role sits at the intersection of customers, product and machine learning. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders, design and deploy AI systems into customer environments, and own technical outcomes from discovery through to production.
The Role
As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering AI solutions that solve real-world business problems. You'll work closely with customers, helping define requirements, architect solutions, deploy systems and continuously improve performance through robust evaluation frameworks.
This is not a traditional consulting role and it isn't a pure research position. You'll be hands-on, writing production code, making key technical decisions, and acting as the trusted technical advisor throughout the customer journey.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
