Forward Deployed Engineer
London | Hybrid | £100,000–£175,000 + Equity | Full-time
The opportunity
We’re working with a high-growth enterprise AI company that has recently raised $50m in Series A funding, founded by an experienced ex-Palantir team and backed by leading investors. They’re building an enterprise AI platform designed to solve some of the most complex operational problems inside large organisations.
They’re now looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with enterprise customers, understand their problems and build real, production-grade software to solve them. This is a highly hands-on role. You won't simply be gathering requirements and passing them back to a product team — you'll be in the room with customers, building and shipping solutions yourself.
What you'll do
- Deploy directly with enterprise customers, both nationally and internationally
- Understand complex operational problems and translate them into technical solutions
- Rapidly design, prototype and ship working software — often within days rather than months
- Work across different customer environments, technologies and industries
- Collaborate with other Forward Deployed Engineers and software engineers
- Deliver compelling technical demos and pilots for prospective enterprise customers
- Feed customer insights and learnings directly into the core product roadmap

What we're looking for
- 1–5 years' experience as a customer-facing full-stack software engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Experience with Python, Rust or TypeScript
- Comfortable working with SQL, REST APIs and cloud infrastructure
- Experience working with enterprise data systems
- Exposure to AI/LLM tooling is valuable
- Someone who enjoys ambiguity, moves quickly and takes ownership
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with senior customer stakeholders
- A genuine builder who wants to see their work deployed and creating real-world impact

What's on offer
- £100,000–£175,000 base salary + competitive equity
- London-based, hybrid
- Approximately 4 days per week in the office
- Up to 50% travel to customer sites, nationally and internationally
