Forward Deployed Engineer (SRE)
London – Fully home based (Office may open late 2027)
Circa £75,000 base + Generous Equity
An ambitious technology startup is hiring a hands-on infrastructure engineer to help enterprise customers deploy its product and operate it reliably.
You’ll take customers from signing to production in their own environments, including VPCs, on-premises and air-gapped infrastructure. Between deployments, you’ll own the company’s cloud platform and physical mobile device infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Lead enterprise deployments, navigating security reviews and access requirements.
- Work directly with customers’ technical teams to solve problems and deliver value.
- Own monitoring, incident response and production reliability.
- Improve deployment playbooks and train other engineers to deliver independently.
- Maintain and scale a mobile device farm.
- Contribute backend and infrastructure-related product code.

What you’ll need
- Experience deploying into at least three distinct infrastructure environments, including one on-premises.
- Experience navigating security reviews and access requests in regulated environments.
- Strong practical skills across public cloud, private/on-premises and physical infrastructure.
- Experience operating high-reliability systems at scale and troubleshooting under pressure.
- Clear communication and a strong focus on customer outcomes.
- Excellent engineering fundamentals and high proficiency with AI coding tools.

This could suit an infrastructure or SRE engineer with substantial practical deployment experience.
