Senior Athena Sales Engineer (Founder as a Service) – HR Agentic AI at Humaans

About Us

Humaans is building the next-generation infrastructure for the workplace, designing software tailored to fast-scaling, globally operating companies pushed into uncharted territories.

Originally a system of record, Athena—the company’s agentic AI platform—has evolved into a broader operational hub for managing global teams. By connecting workflows across HR, IT, Finance, and Operations, Athena empowers organisations to execute faster and with confidence, redefining how work gets done.

Our clientele is a mix of visionary AI-native startups like Lovable, Poolside, Fyxer AI, and Tandem Health, as well as rapidly scaling enterprises like Quantexa, Sellpy, and Manychat—organisations that prioritise leverage over features. With $20 million in venture funding, we’ve attracted early backers including:

  • Founders/operators: Lachy Groom (Physical Intelligence), Stewart Butterfield (Slack), Tobias Lütke (Shopify), Dylan Field (Figma), Jeff Weiner (LinkedIn), Claire Johnson (Stripe), and Oliver Jay (OpenAI).
  • Top VC firms: Y Combinator, Moonfire, Frontline Ventures, Pathlight Ventures, and Exor.

Join us if you’re driven by massive ambition, thrive in high-energy environments, and want to help define an entire category—but with a small team that moves relentlessly.

About the Role

Athena represents a character-defining moment in HR technology. There’s no established playbook for deploying autonomous AI agents in complex organisational settings—with messy data, legacy systems, and high-risk decision-making. You’ll write that playbook.

This is a customer-first technical owner role. You’ll assume the role of **Athena’s Founder for each customer—your final scope is turning product into scalable, tangible outcomes.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)

  • Lead enterprise rollouts portfolio:
    • Partner with our implementation managers to refine requirements, define key use cases, and align them with the product’s capabilities.
    • Drive successful go-lives by shaping customer behaviour while working with hands-on deployment teams.
  • Build quickly with AI tools:
    • Use AI-assisted development to accelerate production code, integrations, and configurations—reaching a release cycle with daily adjustments.
  • Bridge technical customer needs:
    • Serve as the single point of contact for technical escalations across the relationship lifecycle.
  • Own customer adoption:
    • Drive post-launch success: unblock teams, debug issues, and continuously explore where Athena adds value.
  • Translate real world needs into the roadmap:
    • Collaborate with engineering leads, designers, and the CTO to shape product improvements based on direct customer insights.
  • Lead the technical narrative in sales:
    • Shape the technical story for prospects, answer hard no-nonsense questions, and guide decisions when stakeholders stumble on ambiguous requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Nothing parental—its full ownership, from day one. You’ll diagnose each customer’s problem, devise the deployment approach, oversee testing, and validate results. There’s no “handed down task” bureaucracy here—your decisions directly influence Atlas’s evolution.

Requirements

Who Thrives Here?

You’re the person who relishes ambiguity, owns outcomes in front of customers, and excels under pressure. The job requires:

  • 5+ years in advanced full-stack web app development (SaaS focus is critical) with hands-on experience shipping production-grade code.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript—you understand both the language’s elegance and its limitations.
  • Confidence speaking technical nostraising: demonstrate the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences—from HR operations teams to senior leaders.
  • You can turn fuzzy requirements into tangible integrations—empathy for business problems while solving them with code.
  • Enterprise integration knowledge: preferably worked with APIs, Single Sign-On (SSO), and HRIS platforms like Workday or ADP.
  • LLM agent and prompt engineering experience: debugged case studies where the model behaved unexpectedly, exploring the why and how to fix.
  • Formative/protocol-writer mentality: thrived in domains with little precedent—preferably as the de facto authority—you’re stepping into an unstandardised space with clarity.
  • Speed and ownership fundamentally drive your decisions—ability to prioritize real urgent needs over “what should’ve been built yesterday.”
  • Eligibility to travel onsite as needed.

This is an in-person role with set collaborative days:

  • Company base: *in-person presence from Tue-Thurs consistently (Meetings + workshops suited to the pace).
  • Wilkinson House (Lambeth, London) office – door-to-door accessible.
