Forward Deployed Engineer | Fast-growing AI scale-up | London (hybrid)
We are working with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI company that's solving complex, real-world problems for physical security and critical infrastructure. Already live with major UK organisations and scaling quickly, it's still a small team, so you'll join early and have real influence on both the product and how the team works.
What you'll do:
You'll work directly with customers, spending up to half your week on site, to understand their operational problems and turn them into deployed technical solutions. Often there's no obvious end-state, so you'll be discovering and building new capabilities as you go.
The work is broad. One week you might be writing data pipelines or custom backend services, the next building new UI components or getting hands-on with hardware in the field. The team primarily builds in Python, Rust and TypeScript on Linux, but chooses the right tool for each job.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
