Forward Deployed Engineers - AI & Agentic AI
📍 London, Manchester or Leeds - Hybrid (dependent on end customer)
📄 Contract | Inside IR35
👥 Multiple roles - up to 12 hires
We’re looking for multiple Forward Deployed Engineers to join a major global technology consultancy, working directly with its customers to identify, build and deploy practical AI solutions. These are hands-on, customer-facing roles sitting between AI engineering and consulting. You’ll work with business teams to understand their processes and challenges, identify where AI can make a genuine difference, and rapidly turn those opportunities into working agents, automations, PoCs and MVPs.
What you'll be doing
- Identify and prioritise AI opportunities within customer environments
- Design and build AI Agents, Copilots and automations
- Run discovery and ideation sessions with business stakeholders
- Rapidly develop PoCs and MVPs to demonstrate value
- Work across Gemini Enterprise, Copilot Studio, Vertex AI, Azure AI and Power Platform
- Build lightweight integrations using Python, APIs and other development tools
- Help customers adopt and scale successful AI solutions
- Establish reusable AI patterns, templates and best practices

What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience building AI Agents, Copilots, LLM applications or intelligent automations
- Experience with Google Gemini and/or Microsoft Copilot technologies
- Knowledge of Azure AI, Vertex AI, Power Platform or similar
- Python, APIs, Git or other software development skills
- Strong understanding of LLMs and prompt engineering
- Confident running workshops and engaging directly with customers
- Ability to independently identify opportunities and turn ideas into working solutions

Experience with Agentic AI frameworks, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, enterprise AI governance or sectors such as Energy & Utilities, Customer Operations, Field Services or Contact Centres would be beneficial.
We're particularly interested in people who combine the communication and problem-solving skills of a consultant with the hands-on capability of an AI Engineer.
