Our client is a leading financial institution investing heavily in AI across its research organisation.
They are looking for a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work closely with front-office research teams, understand how they work and identify where AI can genuinely improve their day-to-day workflows.
This isn't a traditional AI engineering or pure platform role. You'll sit between research users and the AI engineering team, helping turn real business problems into production AI solutions. The team already has AI tools in production, including conversational AI and agent-based workflows, so you'll be joining an established team and helping expand what they're already building.
What we are looking for
- Strong Python engineering experience
- Strong understanding of financial markets and front-office workflows
- Experience working closely with research, trading or quantitative teams
- Hands-on experience building production AI / LLM applications
- Experience with LLM workflows, AI agents, model deployment or research tooling
- Ability to translate business problems into practical technical solutions
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
