Forward Deployed Engineer

London (Hybrid)

Our client is a high-growth fintech and payments technology business helping organisations automate and optimise critical financial processes using AI, automation, and modern software engineering. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work directly with customers to solve complex technical challenges, build production-grade solutions, and deploy AI-powered systems that deliver measurable business value.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You'll write code, build integrations, solve real-world problems, and own customer deployments from discovery through to production.

You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, AI, product, and customer delivery, partnering directly with technical and business stakeholders to design and deploy scalable solutions.

Deliver customer solutions

  • Lead projects from requirements gathering through to deployment.
  • Design scalable architectures and technical solutions.
  • Own implementation success and customer outcomes.

Build & deploy

  • Develop APIs, integrations, workflows, and automation solutions.
  • Build and maintain production-grade software.
  • Extend platform capabilities to meet customer needs.

Work with customers

  • Understand business processes and technical environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and senior stakeholders.

Solve technical challenges

  • Troubleshoot integrations and production issues.
  • Work across infrastructure, applications, security, and data.
  • Resolve blockers quickly and effectively.

Drive continuous improvement

  • Feed customer insights into product development.
  • Create reusable tooling, templates, and deployment frameworks.
  • Improve implementation speed and scalability.

Skills

Technical

  • Strong software engineering experience in production environments.
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Java, Go, or similar.
  • Experience with APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

AI & Automation

  • Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or workflow automation platforms.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, orchestration, and AI tooling.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
