Forward Deployed Engineer | AI Consultancy | London Hybrid | Up to £120,000 + Bonus
I’m hiring across Senior and Staff level for a fast-growing global AI consultancy working with enterprise clients to take AI beyond prototypes and into real production environments.
These are London hybrid role, with 4 days per week in person: typically 2 days at the consultancy office and 2 days with the end client.
These are hands-on engineering roles for people who were strong software engineers before the current LLM wave and have since built and deployed production-grade AI systems.
You’ll work directly with clients across different industries, solving complex technical problems and integrating agentic AI into existing enterprise systems.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build and deploy production AI agents and LLM applications
- Work with tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith and comparable frameworks
- Build scalable backend services, APIs, orchestration pipelines and modern web interfaces
- Work across Python, Node.js or Java, alongside React / Next.js
- Integrate AI systems into existing enterprise and legacy environments
- Work directly with clients to turn ambiguous business problems into practical technical solutions
- Apply strong engineering practices including TDD, CI/CD, pair programming and continuous refactoring
- Mentor and support other engineers

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Senior Engineer
You’ll be expected to independently own and deliver complex client projects, remaining highly hands-on across the full stack while working closely with client stakeholders. You should be comfortable taking a difficult problem from initial requirements through to a production deployment.
Staff Engineer
You’ll have broader technical ownership. Alongside remaining hands-on, you’ll lead technical delivery, define system architecture and make decisions around scalability, observability and system design. You’ll also guide engineering teams, influence architectural direction and help clients make the right technical decisions.
What I’m Looking For
- Strong software engineering fundamentals developed before the current LLM boom
- Production experience building and deploying LLM or agentic applications
- Strong full-stack engineering capability
- Experience with APIs, microservices, CI/CD and modern frontend development
- Comfortable working directly with enterprise clients
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous technical environments

Why Consider It?
You’ll work across different industries, clients and technical environments rather than maintaining the same product or codebase.
The engineering culture is heavily focused on quality, including TDD, pair programming, collaborative architecture and continuous improvement.
If you’re a strong software engineer who has moved into production AI and you want to work on genuinely complex AI deployments, I’d be interested in speaking.
