The role

Most physical security and operational infrastructure is locked behind aging, proprietary sensors. This high-growth team builds a privacy-first platform that connects directly into legacy camera and sensor networks to deliver real-time operational intelligence and threat detection, without requiring customers to replace a single physical device.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer on the Deployments team, you operate at the frontier where the software meets real-world enterprise operations. You will spend up to half your time embedded on-site with customers, translating vague operational pains into deployed capabilities—building data pipelines, backend microservices, UI components, and on-site Linux hardware configurations. This is not a sales engineering or post-sales support job, nor is it a sheltered product engineering seat; you own full-stack delivery from ambiguous problem definition to live, operational code.

The work

  • Embed with enterprise customers up to half your week to diagnose operational bottlenecks and convert ambiguous requirements into production-ready software.
  • Build and deploy full-stack solutions across the entire surface, including custom backend services, data ingestion pipelines, and responsive frontend UI components.
  • Install, configure, and debug software on physical Linux edge hardware directly integrated with legacy sensor and camera infrastructure.
  • Make ruthless real-time tradeoffs between execution speed and architectural polish in live client environments.
  • Channel technical patterns, failure modes, and client feedback directly back into core product engineering to influence the platform roadmap.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Bring

  • Proven track record writing and debugging production software across the stack—from backend services in languages like Python to modern TypeScript frontends—with zero stack loyalty.
  • Hands-on systems experience configuring and troubleshooting software on Linux environments, including physical hardware or edge deployments.
  • Direct customer-facing technical experience with the ability to present complex architectures to non-technical stakeholders and de-escalate high-pressure situations on-site.
  • Comfort with regular travel to customer sites, spending up to half of your working week embedded directly in the field.
