Job Description
Forward Deployed Engineer - London - VC Backed Start-up
The Opportunity
We are representing a VC-backed technology startup building AI-enabled software for complex physical industries such as aerospace, healthcare, energy, and manufacturing.
The company has recently secured significant funding and is moving quickly to scale its product, team, and customer base. They are building software that replaces manual workflows, spreadsheets, and legacy systems with modern tools that help real-world operations move faster.
They are now looking for a FDE to work directly with customers, understand their workflows, and build production-grade software from idea to deployment.
The Role
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who wants to be close to the customer and own problems end-to-end. You will sit with users, understand what needs to be built, shape the product, and then build and ship it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
