About Us

ClearRoute is an engineering consultancy bridging Quality Engineering, Cloud Platforms and Developer Experience. We help enterprises reliably bring high-impact digital products to market faster, cheaper, and safer, working with technology leaders facing complex business challenges.

We take as much pride in our people, culture and work-life balance as we do in making better software. We’re not just making better software. We’re making the making of software better. Collaborative, entrepreneurial and dedicated to problem solving, we bring the step change our customer need to sustain innovation. Our values challenge us to do the best we can for ClearRoute, our customers and most importantly our team. This is an opportunity for you to build the organisation from the ground up, use your voice to drive change and help transform organisations and problem domains.

Role

The Forward Deployed Product Lead owns the product discovery workstream within the pod and is the primary interface between ClearRoute and the client user and domain experts throughout an engagement. They design and facilitate the as-is data gathering activities, shape the findings and open questions that populate the project knowledge space, and lead the translation of raw discovery material into a validated set of assumptions, personas and journeys that the pod can build against. They work in constant partnership with the Technical Lead and are accountable for ensuring the pattern produces outcomes the client recognises, trusts and can act on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate discovery activities. This includes workshops, interviews, whiteboarding and data mapping sessions to capture broad and deep as-is context with the client team.
  • Define the structure and taxonomy for discovery findings and open questions so they can be captured cleanly in the project knowledge space.
  • Partner with the Technical Lead to specify what goes into the Claude project and file structure and review the resulting client-facing knowledge space for accuracy and narrative clarity.
  • Lead synthesis of raw inputs into a baselined set of validated assumptions, personas and user journeys for the synthesis platform.
  • Own the client relationship throughout discovery and prototyping, managing expectations, surfacing risks, and keeping sponsors engaged.
  • Lead prototype testing sessions with client teams, gather feedback, and drive iteration of target-state artefacts based on that feedback.
  • Coach client teams on the forward deployed / agentic discovery methodology so they can engage with and eventually run elements of it themselves.
  • Contribute to proposals and pre-sales conversations, articulating the value of the pattern to prospective clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Required Experience

  • Substantial product discovery or product management experience, including leading discovery on complex, ambiguous engagements.
  • Strong workshop design and facilitation skills, comfortable running sessions with senior client stakeholders as well as delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesise large volumes of unstructured qualitative material (notes, transcripts, diagrams) into clear, structured findings.
  • Working familiarity with AI-assisted analysis and project-based LLM workflows (Claude Projects) sufficient to direct their use, even without building them personally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
  • Experience defining personas, journey maps and validated assumptions as inputs to solution design.

Desirable Experience

  • Prior experience with double-diamond or other structured discovery methods, and an appetite to evolve that practice into a more agentic, pod-based model.
  • Background in consulting or professional services, ideally in embedded or forward-deployed delivery models working directly within client environments.
  • Enough familiarity with prototyping tools to give directional input on clickable prototypes, even where the Technical Lead does the build.
  • Experience in the industries ClearRoute serves, particularly regulated or enterprise environments where discovery involves complex stakeholder landscapes.
