Permanent Full Time – Office Based - Starting salary £25, 357.50 p/a plus an opportunity to earn up to £5,000 (per annum)
Working with local authorities, Reconnect delivers targeted intervention programmes that enable children to transition from high-cost residential care into more beneficial care settings across the UK.
We currently have an opportunity within our Fostering Team, for a Foster Carer Recruitment Officer to join our growing team, further reinforcing our ability to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
This role is full-time, and office based at our Wrexham office.

Purpose of the Role:
- As a Foster Carer Recruitment Officer at Reconnect Services, you will be an essential part of our recruitment team, responsible for engaging and supporting prospective foster carers through the initial stages of their fostering journey.
- A key part of the role is speaking directly with prospective foster carers to gather relevant personal and household information and develop a clear understanding of their circumstances, motivation, experience, and potential suitability to foster. This will involve asking appropriate and sometimes sensitive questions in a professional, respectful, and non-judgemental manner.
- You will provide prospective foster carers with clear and accurate information about the fostering role, eligibility requirements, assessment process, financial allowances, training, and ongoing support, enabling them to make an informed decision about whether fostering is right for them.
- You will be responsible for accurately recording information gathered during these conversations and identifying whether prospective carers meet the initial criteria to progress to the next stage of the recruitment process.

As a Foster Carer Recruitment Officer your daily duties will include:
- Respond to enquiries via telephone, email, SMS, and WhatsApp within 24 hours.
- Provide prospective foster carers with an overview of the role and requirements, including financial allowances, training, and ongoing support.
- Manage data entry and case management by keeping accurate and up-to-date records of each lead in the case management system, ensuring timely communication with potential applicants.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong people skills with the ability to work as part of a team and build trust and rapport quickly. Integrity and honesty are essential in this role as daily communication will be required with prospective foster carers.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and adhere to set timelines and processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively and manage conflicting deadlines.

Working hours: Monday-Friday (37 hours per week). Hours are varied and will comprise of a mix of 9:00am–5:00pm and 11:00am–7:00pm shifts.
Please note that due to the industry sector and the nature of this role you will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
