Become a Foster Carer in Shropshire

Join Shropshire’s Biggest Family

Shropshire Fostering is seeking local people aged 21+ to provide foster care for children within our county.

By fostering with us, you’ll keep Shropshire children together in Shropshire, providing them with love and stability. Right now, many young people needing care are placed outside of Shropshire, far from everything they know, or in residential homes. Help us change that.

Why Foster for Us?

We offer full support to guide you through every step of your fostering journey. Whether you’re new to fostering or an experienced carer, we ensure you have the resources and guidance you need to succeed.

As a non-profit organisation, everything is ploughed back into looking after our children and our foster carers.

What We Offer

  • Financial Support: Foster carers receive weekly, tax-free payments based on experience and the number of children in their care.
  • New Foster Carers: Earn up to £45,000 per year for caring for one child.
  • Experienced Carers: Those with prior fostering or significant childcare experience can earn even more.
  • Multiple Children: If you care for more than one child, your earnings will increase significantly.
  • Steady Income: As a local authority, we continually have children in need, so you’ll have a consistent, meaningful income.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Ideal Candidate

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences who are ready to make a real impact in a child’s life. If you’re compassionate, resilient and have room in your home, you could be the ideal candidate.

You don’t need to be in a relationship or own your own home. We have solo carers, same sex couple carers, tenants, different religions and ethnicities. Some of our carers also work full-time. What matters more than anything is providing love and security.
