Could You Change a Child's Life?
At Bromley Council, we're looking for caring, resilient, and committed people to become foster carers for local children and young people who need a safe, stable, and nurturing home.
Fostering is a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference to a child's future. Whether you're supporting a young child, a teenager, siblings, or a child with additional needs, you can help provide the stability, encouragement, and care they need to thrive.
As a foster carer, you'll play a key role in helping children feel safe, build confidence, achieve at school, and develop positive relationships, all while being supported by an experienced team of professionals.
Fostering can be temporary or long-term, depending on a child's needs.
Who Can Foster?
You don't need any formal qualifications or previous fostering experience to become a foster carer.
We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life. You may be single, married, retired, employed, self-employed, a homeowner, or renting your home.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
